I loved being able to listen to someone share about the readings, thank you for taking the time to communicate in this way! A backchannel for a large class lecture sounds like a great idea. I have been that undergrad who has missed something or had questions on assignments and wished there was a way to communicate with my classmates for things like this. I think it could be a great way to inform the professor of what to cover and focus on as well. It is interesting to learn about students who feel over-challenged and their tendency not to engage. My thoughts, I think a combination of both that would offer a less intimidating way to communicate and engage.
